The prestigious river cafe in Hammersmith had an outdoor seating area that was in need of a revamp. The existing tables and benches had been damaged and rust had started to take hold.
Benchmark was approached to design and manufacture some 316 stainless steel picnic tables and benches to replace the existing items. With the space all ready exciting we had to design products that could easily fit into the designated area. The site is open to the public so the street furniture needed to be extremely robust, but very simple in design so as not to take away from the view of the Thames.

Working closely with their Architect we provided several design options to the client. In the end, a folded perforated stainless steel top with a tubular frame was chosen. The central spine and laser profiled supports offer subtle strength but by using a 316 perforated top we could produce something that was simple and user-friendly.
