Clare Gardens, once a neglected and underused green space in the heart of Cardiff, has undergone a major transformation as part of the city’s wider public realm improvement programme.
Our contribution to the project focused on enhancing functionality and inclusivity within the park through robust and engaging street furniture.Our CL091 Round Table was specified with a laser-engraved chess board built directly into the tabletop. This forward thinking by Cardiff council is to encourage social interaction and outdoor recreation across all age ranges.
To complement the table, we provided matching stools, designed with accessibility in mind to ensure inclusive use by all members of the community. As well as our round tables our ever popular Baseline BL025 picnic set was used to allow families and individuals to enjoy picnics in this busy and social park. Once again one side of the stainless steel table was provided with stools to allow Wheel chair users and push chairs to have equal access.
All elements were manufactured from durable stainless steel, chosen for its resistance to corrosion, low maintenance needs, and sleek, modern aesthetic. This made it an ideal material for public outdoor settings.
The addition of quality, purpose-built furniture has contributed to a noticeable uplift in park usage. Local residents now enjoy a more welcoming, interactive, and inclusive space. What was once a run-down park is now a vibrant community hub, promoting outdoor activity and social connection.
