City Alpha – River Thames, London

In early 2016 Benchmark was approached by Island Marine with a unique opportunity to design seating for the total refit of a Thames tourist vessel operated by City Cruises. Our Centreline seat in marine grade stainless steel was the perfect fit to both the stringent maritime regulations and the exposed environmental conditions they are likely to experience. We supplied over 100 bespoke CL003 seats and coordinated litter bins, which were fitted to both decks. To conform to the structural and functional requirements, we adapted the fixing method, profile shape and incorporated a hand rail.

City Alpha in its distinct black and red colours can now be seen plying its trade up and down the Thames providing tourists with a great platform from which to view the host of historic London landmarks.
