Contemporary picnic tables for international exhibition space.
The international exhibition space, Spike Design, required updated external furniture for the front of its iconic building in Bristol.
With over 200 people working and visiting the building each day, there was a need to update the current external seating area with something that was robust yet contemporary.
The space is used by some of the UK’s most progressive artists and Benchmark was given some freedom to design furniture that was practical yet reflected the nature of Spike’s tenants.
With it being such a busy location Benchmark opted for 316 stainless steel, which requires little to no maintenance and has the longevity to match. The continuous tube design creates a strong, simple and effective solution and the choice of materials perfectly suits the surrounding buildings, creating a practical yet interesting seating area for years to come.
